International Committee (1.00 hr CLE credit)

"The European Patent System, Tips for U.S. Applicants." Presented by Albert Keyack, European Patent Office Attaché to the United States.  A general overview of the EPO and its procedures will be provided along with recent developments on specific topics such as Early Certainty from Search, PCT Direct, and tips for shortening the patent granting procedure.  An update on the Unitary Patent, the Unified Patent Court and the impact of Brexit will also be discussed.
Trademark and Unfair Competition Committee (1.00 hr CLE credit)
"Some International IP Perspectives:  Famous Marks in China & Patent Grace Period Harmonization."  Presented by Mark Lauroesch, Executive Director at the Intellectual Property Owners Association (IPO).  

Cocktail Reception (5:30–6:15 p.m., open bar)   

Dinner (6:15–7:30 p.m.):

"There's No Hacking in Baseball!  Lessons from the Cardinals, Astros, & Other Major Cybercrime Cases."   Presented by Eric Smithmier (Supervisory Special Agent, FBI) and Jim Pastore (Partner, Debevoise & Plimpton, and former Assistant U.S. Attorney in S.D.N.Y.) and moderated by Gregory Stein, Ulmer & Berne.
